Lucid Leah jewelry is hand crafted and made of precious materials. We aim for sustainable jewelry. That also means we want your jewelry to last a long time. Even if treat your jewelry with care, it can still get dirty or dull. But no worries! In order to make your jewelry last a long time we have a few tips for you on how to take care of your jewelry.

In general

• Always remember that jewelry should be the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off after getting home. 
• We recommend avoiding showering, exercising, gardening and sleeping with your jewelry.
• Contact with chemicals might affect precious materials, always be aware when putting on lotion, perfume and other beauty products.

• Store the jewelry in the provided box or pouch you received it in.
• If you are going to store it for a longer time, wipe it with a soft cloth before storing it.
• Avoid humidity, sunlight and heat as it can cause oxidation (so also don’t store in the bathroom).

Sterling silver

925 sterling silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver. All of our pieces have a sterling silver base and they are all marked with a “925” stamp.

How to take care of sterling silver?

• Sterling silver benefits from regular wearing. The oils on your skin protect it from tarnishing. 
• If the sterling silver piece doesn’t look that shiny anymore you can clean it with a polishing cloth, with silvo and a soft cloth or with warm soapy water and let it air dry on a tissue.
• When you decide to not wear the jewelry piece we recommend to store it in the jewelry box or pouch.

Gold vermeil

For our gold vermeil jewelry we use an 18k gold layer of at least 2.5 microns thick. The gold is layered on sterling silver, that’s why it’s marked with a “925” stamp.

How to take care of gold vermeil?

• Always remember that jewelry should be the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off after getting home. 
• We recommend avoiding showering, exercising, gardening and sleeping with your jewelry.
• Take of your jewelry when washing your hands.
• When you decide to not wear the jewelry piece we recommend to store it in the jewelry box or pouch.
• You can clean your gold vermeil pieces by gently using a soft cloth.

Natural gemstones

For our jewelry we only use ethically sourced and conflict-free natural, mineral gemstones. In some cases the gemstones are vintage and limited edition.

How to take care of natural gemstones?

• We recommend avoiding showering, exercising, gardening and sleeping with your jewelry.
• When you decide to not wear the jewelry piece we recommend to store it in the jewelry box or pouch.
• You can clean your jewelry with natural gemstones with a soft (tooth)brush, warm water and a mild detergent-free soap.
